Oreo cake

What’s better than cake? An Oreo cake! Make it today – and don’t forget the milk!

MAKES 1 LARGE LOAF (12 SERVINGS)

Preparation time: 15 min

Baking time: 50-55 min

CAKE

600 g vanilla cake mix with the extra ingredients listed on the packaging

375 ml Oreo cookie crumbs

TOPPING

90 g butter

500 ml (2 c) icing sugar

10 ml (2 t) vanilla essence

1 packet (90 g) vanilla instant pudding milk or boiling water Oreo cookies to decorate Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Grease a 14x37cm loaf tin and dust with flour.

  1. CAKE Prepare the cake mix according to the packet instructions.
  2. Fold in the Oreo cookie crumbs and pour into the loaf tin.
  3. Bake for 50-55 minutes or until a skewer inserted in the middle comes out clean.
  4. Leave to cool slightly in the tin. Turn out onto a wire rack and set aside to cool completely.
  5. TOPPING Cream the butter, icing sugar, vanilla essence and vanilla instant pudding powder until light and fluffy, while adding just enough milk or boiling water to make it spreadable. Spread over the cake.
  6. Break a few Oreo cookies into pieces and scatter over the cake.
