Kardashian sisters Kim, Kylie and Kendall were caught unawares at the MTV Video Music Awards when they were snapped texting during a moment of silence for Michael Brown, the teen who shot dead by police in Ferguson, Missouri.

You’d think a family that’s made its millions in front of the camera would be savvy enough to realise there’s always a lens pointing at them somewhere.

But over the weekend the Kardashian sisters Kim, Kylie and Kendall were caught unawares at the MTV Video Music Awards when they were snapped texting during a moment of silence for Michael Brown, the teen who shot dead by police in Ferguson, Missouri.

One of the awards’ presenters, rapper Common, made a speech in which he asked the audience for a moment of silence for Michael and the people of Ferguson following race riots that had been sparked by the shooting.

At that moment the cameras caught all three Kardashian-Jenner sisters playing with their cellphones.

The video clip may have been on a slight delay, making it appear as if the sisters were texting. Despite this the Twittersphere was bombarded with tweets slamming the sisters for their “disrespectful” behaviour during such a moving moment.
