Outraged mom fights against internet trolls who used son's pic as a 'cruel meme'

An angry mother whose handicapped son was used to make a meme has appealed to people on internet to report these pictures, which make a mockery of her son.

In 2014 AliceAnn Meyer, from Texas in America, placed a photo of her son, Jameson (4), with a mouthful of chocolate and marshmallows, on her blog.

She could never have guessed the photo would fall into the hands of merciless internet trolls who would compare the little boy to a pug (a type of dog).

Jameson Meyer was born with a condition known as Pfeiffer syndrome, a rare genetic abnormality that affects the growth of bones and tissue in the head, hands and feet.

Some parts of the body grow too much and others too little. Children with Pfeiffer syndrome can differ from one another, and depending on the severity children may have difficulty breathing, eating, seeing and hearing. They may also have webbed fingers and toes.

“So, to everyone who LOL’d, shared, and posted that meme, let me start by introducing you to the child you find so funny. His name is Jameson. He is very real, and he was born with Pfeiffer syndrome,” AliceAnn Meyer wrote on her blog, which she has had since Jameson’s birth.

“What compels a person to do such a thing I will never understand. There is no way for me to know who did this but for every post and share of this meme I will do everything in my power to get it taken down.”

When AliceAnn came across the meme she contacted Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and asked them to remove it. But she was unhappy with the way Facebook reacted. It initially said the bullying didn’t violate their community standards.
