Two parents in the UK spent hours having their legs inked to resemble their daughter’s birthmark.

The toddler, Honey-Rae, is 18 months old and was born with a large port wine mark on her right leg.

After noticing people staring at their daughter in a local shopping centre, Adam and Tanya Phillips from Grimsby, Lincolnshire, decided they wanted to do something to show support for their little girl.

"Adam and I decided straight away that we wanted Honey-Rae to feel special, that her birthmark was something to feel proud of and not embarrassed by," Tanya said.

The tattoos took two-and-a-half hour to etch into their skin, but Tanya says making her daughter feel comfortable in her own skin was completely worth it.

When her Honey-Rae first saw the tattoos she said "match".

"We'll treasure it for ever, so even if hers does go she knows what was once on her leg."
