Jermaine Jackson has suggested his niece Paris doesn’t respect authority.

The 58-year-old singer believes the 15-year-old aspiring actress, who recently attempted suicide, needs to learn to follow the rules set by her guardians, despite conceding she was hit hardest by the death of her father, Michael, in 2009.

Asked whether he agreed with his nephew TJ (34), his brother Tito’s son, that Paris has suffered the most since the King of Pop's death, Jermaine told gossip website TMZ.com, "Yeah, but still she has to know that there are certain guidelines when you grow up being a teenager. There are rules."

Paris, who’s still being treated in hospital in Los Angeles, allegedly took 20 painkillers and slashed her wrists last month after being told she couldn’t attend a Marilyn Manson concert.

TJ previously indicated Paris has been depressed since Michael's death, saying, "Paris has a heart of gold. I just think the loss of my uncle has hit her at a different level. She's in a tough spot, but we're all loving her and doing everything we can to get her where she should be.

"It's tough. She was daddy's girl. My uncle was her world."
