Pasta salad with steak and avo

This is one of those recipes that you're always going to keep nearby - for any occasion!

Preparation time: 10 min

Cooking time: 20 min

Serves: 4

200 g penne pasta

100 g asparagus

250 ml (1 c) cream cheese

10 ml (2 t) garlic, crushed

zest of 1 lemon

salt and black pepper to taste

125 ml (½ c) black olives

125 ml (½ c) peas, cooked

200 g fillet steak, seared

1 avocado, cubed

In a pot of salted water cook the pasta according to packet instructions or until al dente.

Blanch asparagus in boiling salted water for 3 minutes. Remove from hot water into ice cold water.

Combine the cream cheese, garlic and zest in a small bowl and season to taste. Stir in hot pasta.

Add asparagus, olives and peas to the pasta and place in a serving dish. Top with slices of seared steak and avocado.
