Materials Elle Courtelle Chunky (50 g balls) – 6 (6; 7; 8; 9; 10; 10; 11; 12; 13) balls in the colour of your choice; one pair each 4,5 mm and 5,5 mm knitting needles; stitch-holder; cable needle.

Measurements

To fit bust/chest

72 (77; 82; 87; 92; 97; 102; 107; 112; 117) cm. Actual all-round measurement of garment Bust/chest 83 (88;93; 100; 105; 110; 115; 120; 125;130) cm. Length to shoulder 50 (52; 55; 57; 61; 63; 67; 70; 72; 76) cm. The instructions are given for the smallest size, with the larger sizes in brackets; where only one figure is given it applies to all sizes. Tension Save time, take time, check tension; 15 sts and 21 rows = 10 cm over reverse stocking stitch using 5,5 mm needles. For best results it is essential to obtain the correct tension. If there are too few stitches on the test swatch use thinner needles; if there are too many stitches use thicker needles. STICHES  Double rib pattern 1st row: RSF, k 2, *p 2, k 2, rep from * to end. 2nd row: P 2, * k 2, p 2, rep from * to end. Rep these 2 rows. Reverse stocking stitch 1st row: RSF, p. 2nd row: K. Rep these 2 rows. Rep these 28 rows. Back Using 4,5 mm needles, cast on 66 (70; 70; 78; 82; 86; 90; 94; 94; 98) sts and work in double rib patt (see stitches used) for 8 cm, ending with a RSR. Next row, dec row: K one row on WS dec 2 (2; 0; 2; 2; 2; 2; 2; 0; 0) sts evenly across row = 64 (68; 70; 76; 80; 84; 88; 92; 94; 98) sts. Change to 5,5 mm needles and cont straight in rev st st and when work measures 50 (52; 55; 57; 61; 63; 67; 70; 72; 76) cm from beg, ending with a WSR, cast off all sts. Mark centre 24 (24; 26; 26; 28; 28; 30; 30; 32; 32) sts with a coloured thread for back neck opening. Right and left fronts Using 4,5 mm needles, cast on 34 (34; 38; 38; 42; 42; 46; 46; 50; 50) sts and work in double rib patt for 8 cm, ending with a RSR. Next row, dec row: K one row on WS dec 2 (0; 2; 0; 2; 0; 2; 0; 2; 0) sts evenly across row = 32 (34; 36; 38; 40; 42; 44; 46; 48; 50) sts. Change to 5,5 mm needles and cont in patt setting sts on 1strow as folls: P 5 (6; 7; 8; 9; 10; 11; 12; 13; 14) sts, work 1st row of cable patt, p 5 (6; 7; 8; 9; 10; 11; 12; 13; 14) sts. 2nd row: K 5 (6; 7; 8; 9; 10; 11; 12; 13; 14) sts, work 2nd row of cable patt, k 5 (6; 7; 8; 9; 10; 11; 12; 13; 14) sts. Cont straight in patt as now set (working appropriate rows of rev st st and cable patt) and when work measures 45 (47; 50; 51; 55; 57; 60; 63; 65; 69) cm from beg, ending with a WSR for right front and RSR for left front, shape neck: Cast off 4 (4; 5; 4; 5; 5; 5; 5; 5; 5) sts at beg (neck edge) of next row, 3 sts at same edge of every foll alt row 1 (1; 2; 2; 2; 2; 1; 1; 2; 2) times in all, 2 sts at beg of every foll alt row 2 (2; 1; 1; 1; 1; 2; 2; 2; 2) times, then dec 1 st (=work 2 tog) at beg of every foll alt row 1 (1; 1; 1; 1; 1; 3; 3; 2; 2) times = 20 (22; 22; 25; 26; 28; 29; 31; 31; 33) sts. Cont straight until work measures same as back to shoulder, ending with a WSR, then cast off all sts. To Make up Sew shoulder seams. Neckband RSF, using 4,5 mm needles, pick up and k 20 (20; 21; 23; 24; 24; 25; 27; 28; 28) sts up right front neck opening, 26  (26; 28; 28; 30; 30; 32; 32; 34; 34) sts across back neck and 20 (20; 21; 23; 24; 24; 25; 27; 28; 28) sts down left front neck opening = 66 (66; 70; 74; 78; 78; 82; 86; 90; 90) sts. Cont straight in double rib patt, beg with p 2, until band measures 6 cm, ending with a WSR, then cast off all sts RW. Front bands (both alike) RSF, using 4,5 mm needles, pick up and k 86 (90; 98; 98; 106; 110; 114; 118; 122; 130) sts (= ±17 sts per 10 cm) evenly along straight edge of front and neckband. Cont straight in double rib patt, beg with p 2, until band measures 6 cm, ending with a WSR, then cast off all sts RW. Armhole bands (both alike) Place markers 18 (20; 22; 24; 25; 26; 27; 28; 29; 29) cm on either side of shoulder seam. RSF, using 4,5 mm needles, pick up and k 62 (70; 74; 82; 86; 90; 94; 98; 98; 98) sts (= ±17 sts per 10 cm  between markers and work in double rib patt for 5 cm, ending with a WSR, cast off all sts RW.
