Would Prince Harry be willing to appear on a well-known TV show?

Britain's Prince Harry is being targeted to appear on Top Gear.

The fun-loving prince is the top choice of one of the motoring show's presenters, Richard Hammond, to take on the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car challenge, a fastest-lap test which is undertaken by a different celebrity each week.

And the host would also love to see Harry's grandmother Queen Elizabeth get behind the wheel following her appearance in a skit at the London Olympics opening ceremony last year.

Hammond told BBC Newsbeat: "I'd love to get a royal on it and I reckon Harry would be up for it. Or how about the head of the household?' Let's have the queen on.

"She did a skydive at the Olympics, so why not have her in a pokey car?"

The 43-year-old presenter, who co-hosts the show with Jeremy Clarkson and James May, is astonished by the quality of guests the programme attracts, with previous lap competitors including Simon Cowell, Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz.
