Britain's Prince Harry has been named as the ideal celebrity people would want on their side in a combat zone, according to a new survey.

Britain's Prince Harry has been named as the ideal celebrity people would want on their side in a combat zone.

According to a survey by GAME Retail Ltd - to mark the release of new video game 'Call of Duty: Ghosts Freefall' - the flame-haired prince has beaten off competition from soccer legend David Beckham and a host of Olympic medallists to be named the best battle buddy.

While the 29-year-old royal had a clear advantage with eight years of army service under his belt, hot on Harry's heels for the title was athlete Jessica Ennis, boxer Nicola Adams, soldier-turned-TV presenter Bear Grylls and gold medal-winning cyclist Sir Chris Hoy.

Ailsa McKnight, GAME Marketing Director, said: "Prince Harry isn't just a military man, he's also an avid gamer and someone the public believe they could depend on in a high-pressure situation when others simply can't cope.

"There's no one better to have on your side playing 'Call of Duty: Ghosts' and we'll be making sure he has one of our exclusive copies of the Free Fall Edition. It's possible that you could be playing alongside royalty once you get your hands on a copy, and he could be part of the team leading you to victory!"

Feisty 'X Factor' judge Sharon Osbourne also made it into the top 10 alongside celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, Paralympian David Weir and Welsh rugby captain Sam Warburton.

Along with the surprising list, as voted for by the British public, GAME also released a not so complimentary 'Army Duds' category, naming and shaming the country's least trusted celebrity soldiers.

While politicians David Cameron, Nick Clegg and Ed Milliband dominated the bottom half of the list, it was reality TV stars who took over the category with 'The Only Way is Essex' hunk Joey Essex labelled the worst battle partner of all, closely followed by co-star Gemma Collins and 'Made in Chelsea' lothario, Spencer Matthews.
