Prince William appears to have taken his family to visit the late Princess Diana's sister to mark the anniversary of his mother's death.

The Duke, Duchess and Prince George of Cambridge went to visit Lady Sarah McCorquodale on 31 August ?16 years since the death of the Princess of Wales.

According to the Daily Express newspaper they were spotted boarding a helicopter at Belton Woods country club near Lincolnshire, East England, which is about 10 km from the farmhouse where Lady Sarah lives.

Diana ? who died in a car crash in Paris in 1997 alongside boyfriend Dodi Fayed and their driver Henri Paul ? has always been in her boys’ hearts.

Although both Princes William and Harry have never been keen to speak of their mother's death, when William launched a campaign to raise awareness of child bereavement in 2009 he talked about the difficulties he’d faced.

He said, "Never being able to say the word Mommy again in your life sounds like a small thing. However, for many, including me, it is now really just a word ? hollow and evoking only memories."

They released a statement in 2008 which welcomed the findings of the inquest that claimed Diana and Dodi were unlawfully killed because of the gross negligence of her driver and due to a number of other vehicles pursuing her car, and have since refused to speculate on the tragic incident.
