It’s official, Prison Break is returning to small screens.

The 10-episode reboot, which is still in development, will be a sequel to the original show and will pick up “the characters several years after we left them in the last season of the show”.

And that includes Wentworth Miller -- despite his character Michael Scofield’s death in the original show.

'It definitely will address some questions that were set up at the end of the series'

“The brothers will be back. Some of the iconic characters from that show will be back. It definitely will address some questions that were set up at the end of the series and for a new audience… It’ll start after where we left the Scofields in the final season,” confirmed Fox boss Dana Walden at the Television Critics Association’s semi-annual press tour.

Of course the big question on fan’s minds is how Michael Scofield will be written back in into the popular show.

“I don’t think he’s going to completely ignore what happened in that episode, but what he pitched to us was a very logical and believable explanation in the world of Prison Break for why are characters alive and still moving around the world,” said Dana.

“He had a very detailed incredible story for why these characters become relevant again and why they’re back,” added fellow FOX boss Gary.

Looks like we’re in for another sweet escape!
