Quick pan pizza

Instead of waiting it queues at your local pizza joint, make this healthier pan pizza at home

Makes 1 large pan pizza

Preparation time: 15 min

Baking time: 15-20 min

  • BASE 500 g self-raising flour 5 ml (1 t) salt 10 ml (2 t) dried Italian herbs 1 bottle (340 ml) lager beer 15 ml (1 T) olive oil
  • TOMATO SAUCE 1 can (410 g) tomato and onion mix sugar, salt and pepper
  • TOPPING 100 g mozzarella cheese, sliced 4-6 rashers pancetta or bacon 10 green and black olives 6 piquanté peppers, cut into pieces 1 roll (100 g) cream cheese, sliced 10 ml (2 t) chopped garlic olive oil fresh rocket and avocado strips to finish

Preheat the oven to 200 °c and grease a large baking sheet.

BASE Mix together all the ingredients to form a dough and press onto the baking sheet.

TOMATO SAUCE Season the tomato and onion mix with sugar, salt and pepper.

Bring to the boil and spread the mixture over the dough.

Bake for 15 minutes.

TOPPING Arrange the mozzarella slices on the dough.

Add the pancetta or bacon, olives, piquanté peppers and cream cheese.

Scatter the garlic on top and drizzle with olive oil.

Bake for about 10 minutes until the cheese has melted.

Remove from the oven and pile the rocket leaves and avocado on top.

Serve immediately.
