R1,3 million needed to 'rescue' Matt Damon from Mars

An anxious fan is desperate to bring Matt Damon back to Earth from Mars – and he’s looking for R1,3 million to get the rescue attempt off the ground.

Mark Damon was apparently so convincing in his new movie, The Martian, that fan Kyle Douglas of Chicago, became *cough* desperate enough to take action. He’s launched the GoFundMe campaign to raise the necessary funds “to #bringhomeMatt”.

'We need Matt back on earth because he is due to be in another Bourne movie'

In The Martian, Matt plays the role of astronaut Mark Whitney who’s left behind on Mars by his fellow astronauts following an accident. Fans of the movie are now struggling to separate fact from fiction.

“One of the greatest actors in Hollywood is currently trapped on Mars after a failed exploration. We need Matt back on earth because he is due to be in another Bourne movie,” Kyle says in his motivation for the fund-raising project.

To date just over R1 100 has been raised by 12 wellwishers. Concerned fans will have to cough up much more if they want to reach Kyle’s R1,3 billon target, which, surely, Kyle will turn over to Nasa to help launch his noble mission.

But fans should be warned before they cough up their hard earned dough to bring their favourite actor back to Earth. YOU has it on goo authority Matt is safely here on Earth, and The Martian was filmed mainly in studios in Hungary and the Jordanian desert.
