Rob Kardashian has reportedly shed 40lbs thanks to his new diet and fitness plan.

The 28-year-old younger brother of Kourtney, Kim and Khloe Kardashian has seen his large frame at the centre of multiple magazine stories in recent years. In 2015 Khloe blamed her sibling's weight gain on "ups and downs" in his personal life and admitted he was struggling. His size reportedly led to depression and Kim even revealed he skipped her 2014 nuptials to Kanye West because he was uncomfortable with the way he looked.

After a handful of failed attempts to bring his weight down, sources say the sock designer is now taking his health seriously.

Rob's friends told TMZ the star has dropped 40lbs thanks to cutting out red meat and carbs. He is also supposedly hitting the gym five times a week with a trainer, as well as topping up his exercise with joint workouts with girlfriend Blac Chyna.

Fast food is another vice Rob has allegedly culled from his diet, and he and Blac are motivating each other to stick to their "no cheat days" vow, according to the insider.

When Rob first found fame on his family's reality TV show Keeping Up with the Kardashians in 2007, he boasted a slimline physique. However by 2012 his weight had ballooned, and he declared that he wouldn't go shopping for new clothes until he shed some pounds.

His weight continued to be an issue, but by last summer he was working hard with celebrity trainer Gunnar Peterson.

"Rob is always in!" the fitness expert told People. "He's slammed schedule-wise and still makes this work."

Kim also voiced her support for her brother's weight loss campaign.

“Rise & Grind! Workout time!!!!! With @robkardashian,” Kim tweeted in August of that year.

However his frame didn't drastically change, which has led to this latest devotion to diet and fitness.
