SABC Sports presenter Romy Titus welcomed little Hera Sarai Titus into the world two weeks earlier than expected -- but she's a healthy baby and mommy is overjoyed to have her finally here.

Hera was born at the Genesis Clinic in Saxonwold, Johannesburg on 25 March via water birth and Romy braved the pain of childbirth without any medication.

"I’ve always believed that my body was designed to firstly produce and house a baby. I practised homoeopathy throughout my pregnancy, went to gym and pilates and kept healthy – ticking all those boxes meant that if kept it up and doctor gave the thumbs up – I would be good for normal delivery," she told YOU.

"I wasn’t worried about the pain – I thought is as my GPS – my guide through the delivery, I wanted to feel every ache and pain and go with the flow, and my experience of bringing life into this world was a beautiful one."

Hera, although born two weeks premature, weighed a healthy 3.89kgs at birth and already has a head full of hair.

As for her unusual name, Romy -- who wants to keep Hera's dad out of the limelight -- wanted something short but with a strong meaning.

"Hera means ‘warrior’ or ‘to be chosen’ while Sarai – means Princess – born in a time like this in South Africa, I think the country could do with a Warrior Princess," she explains.

Romy explains that seeing her daughter for the first time was an "outer body experience" and how that one special moment changed her life.

"My first words were 'Hello, you’re here!' and 'I love you'," she recalls.

As she embarks on this new journey of motherhood, Romy says she's hoping to be a cool mom, but with boundaries and to be a good role model.

"There will be a streak of strictness no doubt – but never without an abundance of love."
