"Mvezo Komkhulu will once again experience the pitter-patter of a young Mandela's feet."

In a statement sent to YOU, Madiba's grandson confirmed the news.

“We are excited beyond words today to be celebrating not only our first wedding anniversary but also the fact that we are expecting our first bundle of joy in transit.”

The chief and Rabia tied a knot in a private Muslim ceremony in Cape Town last year, 6 February.

In 2012, he claimed his then second wife, French-speaking Anais Grimaud, was impregnated by his brother.

Mandla’s first wife, Tando Mabuna, filed papers in the Mthatha High Court the same year, claiming he was unable to conceive naturally.

But that was then and he's focusing on his bright future with his young family.

“It's been an amazing year,” he said.

“We are truly blessed, and very grateful for all the well wishes received.”
