Rugby's top earners revealed

Bryan Habana and Bakkies Botha, who both play for the French club Toulon, are among the world’s wealthiest rugby players.

These Boks earn R8,4 million and R6,8 million respectively, putting Bryan at sixth place on British newspaper the Daily Telegraph’s list of the world’s top 10 rugby earners, and Bakkies at ninth place. All Black Dan Carter tops the list with earnings of R17,7 million.

2. Matt Giteau – £700 000 (R12,4 m)

3. Leigh Halfpenny – £600 000 (R10,6 m)

4. Sam Burgess – £500 000 (R8,9 m)

5. Jonny Sexton – £494 000 (R8,8 m)

6. Bryan Habana – £474 000 (R8,4 m)

7. Morgan Parra – £436 000 (R7,7 m)

8. Thierry Dusautoir – £408 000 (R7,2 m)

9. Bakkies Botha – £389 000 (R6,8 m)

10. Jamie Roberts – £380 000 (R6,7 m)
