The Monaco Royal wedding has come and gone and Charlene Wittstock is now Princess Charlene of Monaco.

The Royal couple are expected in Mzansi over the next few weeks, where they will throw a lavish wedding reception in Durban.

Before all of that happens we asked local designers what they thought of the days events.

Gert-Johan Coetzee:

Local designer Gert-Johan Coetzee who has dressed the likes of Kourtney Kardashian, Bonang Matheba and songstress Lira gave her wedding gown a ten out ten.

“I am not a fan of her normal style but I have to say that I really liked her wedding dress. I liked the neckline, I think it was really interesting and her hair and makeup was really lovely.

“People were comparing her to Kate Middleton and she went the complete opposite direction. I have to say that I liked her dress better than I did Kate’s,” he said.

“The wedding overall was very beautiful even if she did look a bit sad. I loved how they had a big aisle so that everyone could see”.

Simon Rademan:

“I love her wedding gown, the colour is perfect for her, the hairpiece exquisite, the train impressive and all this on the Mother of all Red Carpets ever!

“Such gracious regal splendour!  There is no longer a chance in my lifetime that Catherine could have outdone Charlene with this one.

“More grace and more womanly poise cannot be found anywhere else. I do have some concern that many brides with broad shoulders may now want her dress neckline, and that I may have to walk the extra mile to convince them that it would only make them look wider, or that I would have preferred a better fit around the bust line and waist,” Rademan said.

“I so much wanted even petite diamonds in her ears with such an extraordinary hairpiece, but she is forgiven this oversight (If you have piercings in your ears, it should be acknowledged by the stylish!) and this is a rule that I shall not budge out on.”

“Charleneis now officially a Princess, a Royal, a Grimaldi, speaks fluently French and has a principality to take care of, and I trust that she will do a splendid and grandiose job of it, Rademan concluded.
