Sam Smith sheds 6 Kilos in a fortnight

Sam Smith has lost 6 kilograms in two weeks.

The Lay Me Down singer enlisted the help of nutritional therapist Amelia Freer to help him shed the pounds. And just a fortnight after embarking on her plan through her book Eat. Nourish. Glow. Sam is already seeing incredible results.

Posting a shot on Instagram of himself holding the tome, Sam wrote: “Three weeks ago I met a woman who has completely changed my life. Amelia Freer has helped me lose over a stone in 2 weeks and has completely transformed my relationship with food. Everyone go check out her incredible book, and start to live healthy.

“It’s not even about weight loss it’s about feeling happy in yourself. Love you Amelia & thank you for making me feel so happy inside and out @ameliafreer #eatnourishglow.”

Amelia states on her website that her plan sticks to “10 principles of healthy eating and provides an enticing selection of recipes to get you started on your path to optimum wellness.”

Sam previously revealed that he has a somewhat unhealthy relationship with food – preferring it even to music.

Even before starting Amelia’s diet plan, Sam had to limit what he let himself eat for fear of becoming unhealthily overweight.

“I think I prefer food to singing. It's really bad, isn't it? Food is my favourite thing in the world,” Sam told British newspaper The Guardian last year.

“I always say if I ate what I actually wanted to eat I'd be in one of those electronic scooters because I'd be too big.”

Other celebrities to have enlisted the help of Amelia include Boy George and James Corden.

James, who has lost 25 kilograms ahead of taking on his role fronting The Late, Late Show, said of Amelia’s help: “I got in touch with her and she put me on this diet plan, working out which foods do and don’t suit me. It’s not rocket science – basically don’t eat cake, don’t eat bread. It’s not particularly drastic or scientific. The principle is that I eat a little bit less and move a little bit more.”
