Manveer Komer, a petrol attendant at a garage in Philadelphia, America, insticntively felt something wasn't right when a couple entered the garage shop.

He turned out to be right -- the couple weren’t a couple at all. The woman, who is reportedly a doctor, entered the shop with a man who it’s believed hijacked her earlier.

In the shop the man pretended to be armed. Earlier he’d taken the woman to various ATMs around town to draw money and he wanted to do the same at the garage.

Fortunately Manveer was there to intervene. He’d realised something was wrong when he noticed the doctor was quaking.

Manveer fearlessly placed himself between the man and the woman and confronted the hijacker. He apparently said, “She’s not going anywhere with you”. And he wasn’t frightened off when the man pretended to reach for a gun.

The hijacker fled in the doctor’s car, but thanks to a young man’s alertness and quick action she survived to tell the tale.

The hijacker was later caught and arrested.
