Long Street is home to fashionistas

Long Street is a fashionista’s dream

Fashion has no boundaries in Long Street, and there you’ll discover boutiques, vintage finds and handmade high fashion. This week I did some shopping in Long Street, in my mind the artiest, most spirited and colourful street in Cape Town. It’s where you find established designers next door to emerging local ones, many of whom you’ve seen on the runway. When shopping for quirky, trendy Cape Town fashion, Long Street is the place to go.

A-List

A-List is one step ahead of seasonal trends. You'll find party dresses, shoes, bags and some great brands. I love its retro style; one of my favourite items was a chic turban. Dress it up with your favourite LBD or dress it down with jeans and pumps. 110 Long Street ? 021-422-4844

Me Me Me

For feminine, romantic and simple pieces with a twist, Me Me Me is the store to visit. 117A Long Street (corner of Church Street) ? 021-424-0001

Traffic

With its slice of edgy and bold style, Traffic is the place to stop for high-fashion items. One of my favourite pieces for this season is the oversize knit. You’ll find all the latest trends in store. 195-197 Long Street  ? 021-426-0465

Mungo and Jemima

If you’re looking for something classic this store offers handmade basics with a twist including dresses, skirts, jewellery, shoes and gorgeous florals. 108 Long Street (corner of Church Street) ? 021-424-5016

Checking out Kloof Street

Now for Kloof Street. I didn’t have much time so I only visited Metropolis, and immediately fell in love with the clothing and the store. Creative and chic, trendy and quirky all in one, this store has fashion and style to suit everyone. A must-see store. Here are some of my fave items!
