Smooth vs Curly

Easily morph between poker-straight hair and curly locks with our easy tips.

Straight and sleek

  • After washing and conditioning your hair, comb it out and spritz the lengths with a good heat-protecting spray.
  • Then use an ionic hairdryer that contains negative ions to help smooth down your hair’s cuticle along a vented, round brush to create a sleek-looking blow-dry.
  • Use a hair-straightening iron and pull it down the lengths of your hair from the roots to the ends.
  • If you want more body around the crown area use a bit of dry shampoo on the roots to lift them up so your hair doesn’t lie too flat against your head.
  • To finish, mist your hair with a shine spray to make it gleam but avoid the roots if you have fine hair because this can make it look greasy.

Glamorous curls

  • The secret to perfect curls as opposed to a mop of frizz is to seal hair shafts with a bit of silicone. You’ll find it in shampoos and conditioners that claim to target frizz or smooth curls.
  • After washing, apply a curl-defining mousse to your lengths and blow-dry your hair upside down to create volume.
  • Creating loose curls is easy with a ceramic curling iron. Simply wrap individual sections around the bar, hold it for a few seconds, then unravel the curl.
  • Once you’ve done your whole head, gently brush out your locks to create a loose, breezy look.
  • To ensure the style lasts all day give your hair a light spritz with a gentle-hold hairspray.
