Sorry, we’re too different

When Sienna Miller and Jude Law returned from a supposedly romantic getaway in Nairobi, Kenya, after Christmas he looked tired and she looked bored. Not without reason.

The celebrity couple recently announced they’d split for the second time. And there’s no chance of a reconciliation like the previous time, after he’d cheated on her with his kids’ nanny.

The apparent reasons vary from his irritation with her pets to her annoyance at his close relationship with his ex, Sadie Frost (45), with whom he has three children.

They were mismatched from the start, insiders say. Jude (38) is a serious actor who likes to stay at home, while Sienna (29) is a social butterfly who has yet to impress critics with her acting.

‘‘Jude has always had a problem with the age gap,’’ a friend says. ‘‘Sienna loves to party and have a pretty wild time. Jude likes staying in. Sienna just wasn’t on the same wavelength.’’

Their publicists say the split is amicable and that no third parties are involved.

‘‘To lose Jude Law once may be regarded as a misfortune, but to lose him twice looks like carelessness,’’ a columnist wrote.

Their romance started in 2004 – a year after Jude and Sadie’s divorce – when they starred in the movie Alfie. They became engaged on Christmas Day that year.

Seven months later his affair with his children’s nanny was revealed and the engagement was called off. Sienna had a series of relationships and got engaged to Welsh actor Rhys Ifans in 2007. She had a brief fling with rapper Diddy and her year-long affair with married actor Balthazar Getty set tongues wagging.

In September 2009 Jude became a dad for the fourth time with the birth of a daughter, Sophia, whose mother is a model he met outside a nightclub.
