Ahead of Spud 2: The Madness Continues opening at cinemas countrywide tomorrow, Friday 21 June, we have a chat to Byron Langley (Simon)

We interview gorgeous Byron, who plays sporty Simon Brown in Spud2: The Madness Continues. Simon delights in going along with Rambo’s mischief.

What can Spud fans look forward to in The Madness Continues?

There are a lot more schoolboy antics going on compared to the first film and the boys are one year older than before, so they feel they can try out new things. And they do!

What was your favourite scene to shoot?

My favourite scene was when everyone had to try out for the school play by impersonating some type of zoo animal. I definitely had some good laughs seeing that.

What is your favourite thing about your character?

My favourite thing about my character is his sense of humour and how easily he gets on with people.

Do you have a lot in common with your character?

I would say there are a few similarities, mainly that we both have a love for cricket and sports in general.

What was the funniest moment on set?

Funniest moment was when we had the Notties Hot Dog Eating Contest, and off set there were these baboons that kept eating all the hotdogs and other food. They would have won the contest for sure!

Who in the cast did you get along with the best?

Whether it be cast or crew, I think everyone got along with each other fine, I probably spent the most amount of time with Travis (Boggo) and Josh (Mad Dog)

Who was the troublemaker on set?

Blessing (Fatty) definitely had a few trouble-making tactics that went unnoticed!

Were there any off-screen romances between cast members?

None that I know of.

Of all the members of the cast, who do you think would make the best couple?

I reckon Vern (Tom Burne) and Roger (The Cat) should finally become ‘Facebook Official’.

What’s in the pipeline for you this year?

I’m participating in the Cricket LMS World Cup in England over Aug/Sep and then doing  some more modeling and surfing until a holiday to the States over December/January.
