Keeping hands clean is the first step in avoiding sickness and stopping the spread of germs. Teach your kids these three hygiene-smart hand-washing tips from an early age:

  1. A quick rinse under the tap isn’t enough to keep your hands germ-free. Tell your child they should sing the happy birthday song from beginning to end twice while washing their hands.
  2. Teach them to scrub the backs of their hands, between their fingers and under their nails.
  3. Use warm water instead of cold and preferably use paper towels when drying.
