Authorities say a western Pennsylvania teenager charged in the shooting death of another teen took a selfie with the body and sent it to a friend on social media.

Maxwell Morton (16) is charged with homicide and a firearms count in the death of 16-year-old Ryan Mangan, who was found Wednesday evening in his home. Police were contacted by the mother of another boy who said he'd received a photo showing the suspect with the victim after he'd been shot, and also received text messages from the suspect saying: "Told you I cleaned up the shells" and "Ryan was not the last one."

The selfie was sent to one of Morton's friends on Snapchat showing him posing in front of Mangan's body, which was slumped over in a chair, Mail Online reports.

“[Police] received a copy of the photo which depicted the victim sitting in the chair with a gunshot wound to the face,” a police affidavit states. “It also depicts a black male taking the ‘selfie,' with his face facing the camera and the victim behind the actor."

"The photo had the name ‘Maxwell' across the top.”

Westmoreland County District Attorney John Peck tells the Pittsburgh Tribune Review that the photo "was a key piece of evidence that led investigators to the defendant."
