Thai beef & broccoli stir-fry

Serves 4

Preparation time: about 20 minutes

Cooking time: about 20 minutes

THAI SAUCE

30 ml (2 T) oil

15 ml (1 T) sesame oil

2 garlic cloves, finely chopped

30 ml (2 T) soy sauce

5 ml (1 t) soft brown sugar

salt and freshly ground black pepper

STIR-FRY

500 g beef strips

oil

200 g broccoli, cut into small pieces

1 red sweet pepper, sliced in strips

About 250 g cooked noodles

10 ml (2 t) sesame seeds

1 THAI SAUCE

Stir all the ingredients together in a small saucepan and bring to the boil. Reduce heat and simmer for a minute or two.

2 STIR-FRY

Heat some of the oil in a pan and fry the beef strips a few at a time over very high heat until just done. Remove the meat from the pan.

Heat the rest of the oil and fry the broccoli and sweet pepper over high heat.

Spoon the meat into the pan and add the Thai sauce. Cook over high heat until most of the sauce has cooked away.

Stir in the noodles and fry for a minute until hot.

Serve in bowls. Garnish with sesame seeds.
