THE BEST

Alicia Vikander

Alicia was breathtaking in a unique Louis Vuitton gown. The slinky dress was completely decked out in sequins, and the Swedish actress sparkled as she accepted her award for Outstanding Female Actor in a Supporting Role for The Danish Girl.

Brie Larson

The blue atelier Versace dress fitted the Outstanding Female Actor in a Leading Role winner like a glove. The unexpected cut-outs and knot details really made Brie stand out.

Marisa Tomei

The beading adds just the right amount of sparkle to this Zuhair Murad dress, cinched beautifully with the delicate silver belt.

Helen Mirren

The 70-year-old actress stunned in an embellished silver dress that made jaws drop. With a dress this gorgeous, Helen made one thing very clear: She’ll always bring her A-game to the red carpet!

Rachel McAdams

Rachel was a vision in black mesh and heavily embellished gown by designer Elie Saab. Rachel's film Spotlight took home Outstanding Cast in a Motion Picture.

THE WORST

Lori Petty

Talk about a pop of colour! The bubblegum-hued get-up with its bold harness-like accents was a big miss for the American actress and director.

Kate Mara

This dress would have been a big hit if only there was more fabric on top and less side-boob. The shade of nude also doesn't do much for the fair-skinned beauty.

Nicole Kidman

Did Nicole steal these strips of fabric from her daughters' fairy princess dresses? There's just so much going on here -- stripes, a heavy scattered ruffle... Sometimes less is more, Nicole Kidman.

January Jones

This puffy dress was way too much for January’s small frame. The nondescript colour is also not well-suited to the blonde beauty.

Christina Hendrick

Shoulder bows are always a hit or miss and unfortunately for the Mad Men actress, it was way off the mark.
