Eleven shipping containers, four weeks at sea and 15 000 km later they’re finally here.

The Days of the Dinosaur exhibition’s life-size mechanised dinosaurs have just landed in SA from Spain and are ready to enthrall South African viewers in due course.

The creatures weigh a massive 55 274 kg (55 tons) and it takes the two riggers, 2 scaffolders, five technicians and 14 casuals and supervisors from Argentina more than three days to dismantle  and get them ready for transport.

Therafter the dinos move to Cape Town where residents of the Mother City will be able to view them from 31 July to 20 August at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
