David Hasselhoff is engaged to wed Welsh beauty Hayley Roberts.

The 63-year-old former Baywatch star will be walking down the aisle for the third time with the 36-year-old model and he couldn't be more delighted about spending the rest of his life with her.

"I had a saying, ‘You don’t get married because you want to live with someone, you get married because you can’t live without them’," he told the U.K.'s Hello! magazine. "I felt that way. I knew that I was really unhappy without her."

However, David admits he delayed the proposal process for a while due to their 37-year age difference, noting: "I waited to propose because I thought I was too old for her.”

Although they are nearly 40 years apart in age, Hayley doesn't mind at all, stressing she feels equally as passionate about her future husband as he does for her.

“I don’t want to miss out on being with someone I love because of what might happen down the line,” she smiled.

The couple met while David was serving as a judge on reality television competition Britain's Got Talent and the pair have now been in a relationship for five years.

Throughout their romance, David has jokingly asked Hayley to marry him, so when he was authentically asking for her hand, she was in complete shock.

“I genuinely had no idea he was going to do that," she shared. "I’m still so overwhelmed.”

“I thought he was just joking around at first. He’s asked me before, but it was never for real,” she recalled. “Then he pulled out the ring. I cried so hard that he didn’t get around to actually asking, ‘Will you marry me?’ until about 10 minutes later.”

David was previously married to actresses Catherine Hickland and Pamela Bach. The Knight Rider star shares two adult daughters with ex-wife Pamela.
