Here's a hint -- she found her lost wedding ring when she took her baby to see the doctors.

Losing your wedding ring can be devastating. Of course, their small size doesn't help matters, only decreasing the odds of ever recovering the precious band.

Finding themselves in this unpleasant position, Redditor Iamclarkgriswald and his wife turned their house inside out after she lost her wedding ring.

They were about to give up any hopes of ever recovering it when they realized that there was one place they hadn't looked at yet- inside their 14-month-old baby boy.

"Just in case", the redditor's wife took their baby for an x-ray, solving mystery once and for all.

“My wife couldn't find her wedding ring yesterday. Our baby will be a diamond mule for the next couple weeks,” Iamclarkgriswald explained on Reddit.

“He swallowed it … He was on the floor, putting things in his mouth. As he often does. She didn't realize he grabbed her ring while she was getting ready

“They kept us [in] yesterday to ensure it was moving and not getting stuck on the high risk areas."

Fortunately, the baby passed the ring on his own, returning the "poopy ring" to his mom.

“He's fine, thanks. He's actually shown no signs of discomfort at all … now we dissect each diaper like 5th grade science class.”

The funny but cautionary tale has garnered more than 2 million likes on Imgur.

One user commented:"You should bring your baby to jewelery stores to get free rings."
