A couple from Langbank, Renfrewshire, in Scotland have just welcomed a third set of twins ? this time baby girls, after previously welcoming two sets of twin boys, Lewis and Kyle (14) and Finn and Jude (12).

Beating the odds of 500 000 to 1, they welcomed baby sisters Rowan and Isla recently.

Proud mother of six Karen Rodger (41) says, “I’m absolutely over the moon it’s girls. It’s definitely going to be a good journey ahead.”

After two sets of twins Karen and her husband, Colin (44), decided to have one more baby after Karen’s 40th birthday.

Little did they know after a six-week scan they’d discover they beat the unlikely odds of yet another set of twins. “It never crossed my mind that it would be twins again but I’m absolutely delighted,” said Karen.

Upon telling her husband via text, he thought she was joking and immediately texted back to say, “This is not funny”.

“I had to explain that it really was true,” said Karen.

While it might be somewhat of an overwhelming prospect for the doting parents, it’s something they have done twice before, albeit with boys.

With four brothers and a dad, Colin jokes, boyfriends will be completely unacceptable. “With five ‘dads’,” he says, “it will be a frightening gauntlet for any boyfriend to run.”
