Julia Marsh's pet pig ‘Chops', who she believed was a micro pig,  ballooned to 139 kilograms after chomping his way through her five-bedroom house.

The hefty hog managed to eat through two of her couches before she banished him from her home due to his enormous appetite.
'Everyone thinks I'm bonkers for keeping him but he's part of the family'

Julia bought Chops five years ago and was assured by the seller that he was a genuine micro pig and would never grow to be bigger than a small dog. Micro pigs are fully grown at two years old and weigh just two 12 kilogram. But when Chops began to get bigger and bigger it did not take long for Julia to realize that she had been duped.

Julia claims that was persuaded to buy the pig by her four children, John (23), William (22), Maggie (20), and Jacob (17), but they have all left for university she has been left to literally pick up the pieces. Chops has very nearly destroyed Julia’s five-bedroom home and she has been forced to exile the pet into the garden to salvage her living space. The hog ate whatever was in her kitchen cupboards and even devoured two sofas and ripped the wallpaper off the walls.

Clearly not eating for taste, he even guzzled washing-up liquid, the contents of the kitchen bin and once even downed a 3litre bottle of cooking oil.

According to Julia; 'There are not many things Chops would turn his nose up at and his favourite delicacies are J cloths, cans of beer, and whole packets of painkillers.” Once Julia managed to banish him to the garden he ploughed through the neighbors’ fence, which Julia then had to replace.

"Everyone thinks I'm bonkers for keeping him and all my friends tease me about my micro pig, but I don't care, he's part of the family."

Despite her love for Chops, Julia does however admit that Chops is not doing much for her love life, “I'm actually single and I imagine I'll stay that way -- not many men could handle Chops - he likes to be the man in the house and is very protective of me.”
