A striking breastfeeding campaign run by Brazil’s Pediatric Society of Rio Grande (SPRS) has gone viral.

The ad created by advertising agency Paim uses powerful visual imagery to create awareness around healthy diets and their effect on the unborn child. The campaign features three images of breastfeeding mothers, where each mother has a fizzy drink, burger or doughnuts nuts painted on their breasts to create the illusion that the baby is consuming that food directly.

"Your habits in the first thousand days of gestation can prevent your child from developing serious diseases," each advert states.

“Love and affection are vital, but it is important to educate and inform mothers about the procedures necessary for proper nutrition and baby care,” adds the SPRS website.
