The charge against Henri was dropped on the basis of merit, while Daniellá’s was dropped on condition she attends compulsory sessions with a psychologist.

This comes in response to a report, compiled by the National Institute for Crime Prevention and Rehabilitation of Offenders, submitted to the court.

Henri, neatly clad in a grey suit, was accompanied by the lawyer who’s representing him in the so-called ‘axe-murder’ case, Lorinda van Niekerk. His advocate, Pieter Botha was also present.

Henri and Daniellá stood beside each other at the back of the courtroom while they waited for the magistrate to hear their case.

Daniellá, who has a different legal representative, wore a black dress and heels.

Henri is set to appear in the Cape Town High Court on 24 April, where he’ll be on trial for the murder of his parents, Martin and Teresa, his brother, Rudi, as well as the attempted murder of his sister, Marli, in early 2015 in Stellenbosch.
