Danie and his wife, Eloise le Roux, have been in the headlines since May due to suspicions of his extramarital affair with a teacher at his school.

The head of Paarl Gymnasium Primary School, Danie Le Roux, will be back at school on Monday despite reports that he would be placed on unpaid leave.

This according to Carien van Dyk, the chairperson of the school’s governing body.

“No leave forms have been completed and I have no reason to believe that he won’t be reporting for duty on Monday.”

Netwerk24 reported on Tuesday that Danie would be embarking on six months of unpaid leave.

They’ve since published a correction saying that Danie had contacted the head of the Western Cape Eduation Department (WCED), Brian Schreuder, about the possibility of leave without pay, but that the arrangement was never formally approved.

According to a source close to the school’s management Danie had simply discussed his options with the WCED.
