Just two days after her husband’s death, Norma discovered she had a tumour on her uterus.

But when the doctor recommended surgery, radiation and chemotherapy, she immediately refused.

Instead, the 90-year-old, from northern Michigan in America, decided to travel the world.

“I’m 90 years old. I’m travelling,” said Norma.

Since August last year she’s been touring in a recreational vehicle driven by her son, Tim. Her daughter-in-law is sharing in the fun.

Her doctor says every day he sees what cancer treatment does to patients.

“It’s intensive care units, bad side-effects . . . and to be honest there’s no guarantee she’d survive the initial operation to remove most of the cancer. She’s doing just what I would do in this case.”

Meanwhile Norma's symptoms have improved and she’s been able to visit many places in America, Europe and China.

The elderly, who turns 91 in March, has enjoyed balloon trips in California and visited Disney World in Florida. In fact, she’s visiting all the popular holiday destinations she’s never been to.

She has also opened a Facebook page, Driving Miss Norma, to share her journeys with the world. To date her page has had 68 100 likes.

She offered GoodNewsNetwork this piece of advice: “Keep praying every day and God will take care of you even if it feels as if you can’t take care of yourself."
