Friday 28 March

Equilibrium

SABC3 8.30 pm

In a future where feeling is outlawed, a man who’s supposed to enforce the law ends up trying to overthrow the system. With Christian Bale dressed like Keanu Reeves a la the Matrix movies and wielding swords and guns, could there be a better Friday night movie?

The Whistle Blower

SABC1 10 pm

A war veteran investigating the murder of his son during the Cold War uncovers a web of deceit and paranoia. Based on real events and starring Michael Caine and Sir John Gielgud, this is a must for lovers of spy movies.

Saturday 29 March

Pride & Prejudice

SABC3 7.30 pm

It’s all period-piece romance tonight with dashing Mr Darcy falling for commoner Elizabeth. Based on Jane Austen’s classic novel about class, marriage and manners in early 19th-century England, this tale about love against all odds stands the test of time. (And Colin Firth is fabulous as Mr Darcy!)

Sunday 30 March

Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted

M-Net 10 am

The awesome foursome are back and still trying to make their way back home to the New York City Zoo. This time they end up making their way through Europe as part of a travelling circus. The fabulous animation, lovable characters and brilliant dialogue mean grown-ups will love it as much as the kids.

Man On Fire

e.tv 8 pm

Denzel Washington plays a former CIA operative who’s pretty much given up on life and takes a job as a bodyguard in Mexico City because he has nothing better to do. The little girl he’s hired to protect creeps into his heart – and then the unthinkable happens.
