After his arrest yesterday, the Joburg property mogul was taken by police to Stellenbosch, where the suspected murder took place.

A court date has not yet been set for the husband of the Spier murder victim Susan Rohde.

Jason Rohde, the CEO of Sotheby's International Realty in South Africa, was yesterday arrested by eight armed policemen at his home in Bryanston, Johannesburg. His three daughters were present.

Susan was murdered a month ago on the Spier Estate near Stellenbosch.

His first court appearance was to be in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court, but he’s since been moved to Stellenbosch because that’s where the murder took place.

The Stellenbosch Magistrate’s Court couldn’t confirm when Rohde’s first court appearance would be. A spokesperson simply told YOU that no paperwork had been filed at the court.

Daniel Witz, Rohde’s lawyer, also couldn’t comment on YOU’s questions and just said there are still uncertainties. It’s expected that Rohde’s legal team will apply for bail tomorrow.

Witz told YOU yesterday that Rohde was “standing strong”.
