Hannah's owner loved her so much, she set out to give her sweet pooch the best day ever – and documented the bittersweet day on Snapchat.

Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is never easy.

In fact, one might be tempted to rush in and get the whole, horrible thing over and done with.

But Hannah's owner, 24-year-old Kyle Amick, loved her so much, she set out to give her sweet pooch the best day ever – and documented the bittersweet day on Snapchat.

In a series of heartrending photos uploaded to picture-sharing site Imgur, Kyle documents her last, lovely day with Hannah before the awful trip to the vet.

“For about two months Hannah has been having seizures,” Kyle explained.

“They were small and nothing to worry about, but they gradually got worse. Hannah was on a couple of meds: one for her kidneys and another for the pain she had in her elbows and her hips.”

The 26 pictures show her good-natured pup enjoying some of her favourite things – Hannah got a puppy spa day, some McDonald's and plenty of cuddles.

“Dogs are too amazing to let go, but sometimes it happens and they will forgive you,” she wrote on one of the 26 photos, showing Hannah seated in the front seat of her car.

"I finally decided that keeping her on the meds was selfish, but keeping her off of them was just as cruel," she said.

The emotional post has since gotten more than 36 000 points and more than 669 000 views on Imgur.

"Where there would be no pain, no seizures, no whimpering in the night. Just peace and hopefully love."
