Pranksters left a woman in a sticky situation when she had to be sawed free after being superglued to her front door for three hours.

Fiona Crabb, from Great Manchester, had arrived home after an evening out when the incident happened.

"I got home after spending the evening with my friend who lives nearby and was confused when I realised the door handle was sticky,” she said.

Paramedics, who initially thought it was joke, arrived three hours later.

'I don't understand why anyone would do something so stupid'

They tried hot water, vegetable oil, and even Coke but couldn’t free Fiona from the door.

Eventually, firefighters were called and they unscrewed the handle from the door so she could be taken to hospital.

Doctors managed to saw the handle off and used a solution to dissolve the glue.

Fiona was left with burns and has to apply vegetable oil to her hand at night.

"I don't understand why anyone would do something so stupid.

"I'd rather not know who did it as I'd be too upset."
