'You were and always will be my first love': Heartbroken Amor's tribute to Joost

Joost's estranged wife Amor Vittone has taken to social media to share a beautiful tribute to the late rugby legend.

Joost's estranged wife Amor Vittone took to social media to share a beautiful tribute to the late rugby legend.

"It's with a heavy heart that we bid farewell to Joost an hour ago," she wrote on Facebook.

"We're surrounded with family and lots of love. Joost, rest in peace and know that Jordan and Kylie, will hold you in their hearts. You're soaring with the angels without pain.

"You were and are my first love. We love you!"

Joost passed away on 6 February after a long battle with motor neuron disease.

Singer and TV presenter Amor and Joost, who share 13-year-old Jordan and 11-year-old Kylie, wed in 2003. They've been estranged since 2009, but never divorced.

Confirming the sad news of the rugby legend's death on Monday, the J9 Foundation said Joost's family is "devastated at the loss".
