ANCYL pair dodge R83 000 party bill

Cape Town - Two ANC Youth League members splurged R83 000 on a pre-election party before running off without paying the bill.

According to the Sunday Independent, Emmanuel Bongumusa Gumede and Themba Dlomo signed off on bills for expensive single malt scotch and lavish seafood platters on 5 and 6 April but have evaded settling the restaurant tab.

The owners of the Durban restaurant – Velvet Lounge - which hosted the party, have since approached the police in an attempt to get their money back after both the ANCYL and the ANC distanced themselves from the issue.
