About Me:

I am a veterinarian turned entrepreneur with three "vetshops", an internet business and an import business. During my 75 years on this planet I have experienced many weird and wonderful things, from having a rabies scare to treating chimps and elephants. I am unashamedly proud to be a South African, but this does not mean I have my head in the sand. With my articles I hope to give my own take on this country and what ails it. To this end I have traveled widely and researched the chaotic history of Africa.

One of my articles on News24 caused some of my family members to "unfriend" me on Facebook.

It is my contention that there is no such thing as a 'popular uprising', there always seems to be an organization or group fanning the flames of discontent and encouraging violence

Showing respect to elders and authority figures is part of the custom called hlonipha.

It is generally accepted by intelligent people that we humans evolved over millions of years through Natural Selection.

The tradegy at the Newtown school in Connecticut made me wonder why people are so easily driven to extreme violence.

I have often wondered what evolutionary advantage there could possibly be for pregnant woman to have "morning sickness" during pregnancy.

Recently, I had an internet altercation with members of my family. The ones that tried to engage with me in argument are all very religious.

The South African constitutional court made the ruling that murderers from a country where the death penalty can be enforced may not be extradited.

I really don't care if my sin causes a time warp. I'm having far too much fun to worry about it now.

It seems to me that massacres occur more frequently in Africa than anywhere else in the world.

So in this article you will get the benefit of the learning curve we went through. We now have a well-functioning club with nearly R1.4 million invested.
