For a lifetime I’ve socially mixed with benign religious and mildly spiritual folk; they’re mostly rational and practical, and accept that the bible and religion has shortcomings.

Arithmetic is, at its base, a scientific endeavour, albeit a very simple one; so, by applying its rules, by teaching it to our children, by correcting errors others might have made – are we ‘arrogant’?
