Man held for Jo'burg airport heist

Johannesburg - A man was on Thursday arrested in connection with an armed robbery
which occurred at the Johannesburg International Airport earlier
this week, Johannesburg police spokesman Superintendent Eugene
Opperman said on Friday.
On Wednesday four gunman followed two security vehicles, carrying
coins and valuables, onto the apron and confronted the guards,
Opperman said..
The robbers fled in the two security vehicles, leaving behind a bakkie,
which had been reported stolen.
Opperman said the security vehicles were found abandoned near the
scene.
He said some of the stolen items had been recovered but Kruger
rands and jewellery were still missing.
Investigations led to the arrest of one robber.
