Nelspruit - The fourth suspect in the murder of author and TV personality Pieter Pieterse appeared in the Malelane magistrate's court on Monday, Mpumalanga police said.
Superintendent Izak van Zyl said Kenneth Mhlongu (28) was
remanded until his next appearance on May 24.
Mhlongu, who is the main accused, will then appear in court
along with three other men arrested shortly after the murder in
March.
Pieterse (66) was murdered in Komatipoort in March. He was
stabbed 28 times. His badly decomposed body was discovered by his
wife, Jenny, at their home in the private holiday resort of Marloth Park.
Pieterse and Zack du Plessis took over presenting the popular
Afrikaans story-teller's show Maak 'n Las after veteran comedian and story-teller Tolla van der Merwe died in a car accident - also in Mpumalanga - in August 2000.
Pieterse published his first short story at the age of 20 in
1956. After that he wrote more than 30 novels. Fourteen were
translated into English and one into French.
