News24's new voice portal service "0821 NEWS" provides callers with a convenient, easy-to-use service through any phone.
0821 NEWS will initially provide access to breaking news, business and sport news, as well as business indicators and lottery numbers.
Now, where there's a phone, there's News24.
Using 0821 NEWS is simple. Just call 0821 NEWS (082 1 6397) to access the service, respond to the service simply by using your voice, in "plain English", and it takes only a couple of seconds to get up-to-date with the latest news.

How it works
Speech recognition capabilities enables you to select the news you want to hear by saying the option into the phone.
So if you listen to the menu options, for example: "Business" and you would like to listen to the top business stories - say "Business" into the phone. The system will then provide you with the top business headlines.
You can then select which story synopses you would like to hear by saying the number of the headline. You may repeat any story, return to the Main Menu, or hang up.
You may interrupt the voice with your commands without listening to the whole menu.
The use of a speaker phone may adversely affect speech recognition.
Standard cellphone rates are charged.
