Chicago - Most American men and women "really really like sex" according to a University of Chicago study funded by the maker of the Viagra anti-impotency drug.
The findings surprised the study team who were expecting respondents to be far more restrained in their praise of carnal activity.
"We were really, really surprised," said sociologist Edward Laumann of the fact that only 1 of the 3 159 respondents said they didn't like sex.
The survey found that 72 per cent of men and 63 per cent of women
"really, really like sex" and that respondents preferred sex to
almost every other activity.
"What this tells us is that if you're not interested in sex,
there's probably something wrong with you. You're a sick, pathetic loser," stated Laumann.
"Maybe this is why there's so much sexual content in movies and
advertising. If everyone is interested in the subject, the media
can make more money by including sex in their products," he said. - Sapa-DPA
