News24 holds top position in latest DMMA data
The latest Effective Measure data from the Digital Media and Marketing Association (DMMA) reports that News24 still holds top positions in both the website and mobile categories.
24.com holds first position in the publishing category and in the World Wide Website section, news24.com is second to bbc.com.
In February 2011, the Digital Media and Marketing Association (DMMA) moved vendors from Nielsen to Effective Measure resulting in a change in tagging, the addition of an audience panel and the ability to integrate measurement information with Telmar.
The results bode well for both News24 and the mobile site m.news24.com with unique browsers (UBs) recorded as 99,631 for m.news24.com and News24.com at 1,955,749.
Mobile growth
Says Ronald Bach, Product Manager for News24 Mobile: "In addition to the mobile site, News24's mobile applications and widgets have also contributed to the growth in the brand's mobile audience. News24 now has over 170,000 active monthly application users generating more than 3,3 million sessions every month across multiple mobile platforms including iPhone, iPad, Blackberry, Android, Windows Phone 7, Nokia OVI and Samsung Bada apps."
Three winning principles
Says Jannie Momberg, Editor of News24: "News24 is built on three basic principles - content, community and technology. We've been around for almost 13 years and have learnt over time the digital lessons of usability, availability and multi-platform accessibility. One of our key focuses is to ensure the user-experience on any platform should be optimised for that particular platform. Our operational and development teams are working at improving these areas on a daily basis."
With an ongoing focus on content, community and technology, News24 is proving that their formula works.
